Martin 000-42 1997 Used Acoustic Guitar 1997

A used 1997 "000-42," originally produced as a custom model, has arrived! This particular instrument has "CUSTOM" engraved on the neck block, indicating it was a custom-ordered model from before production resumed in the regular lineup.

The ebony of the fretboard and bridge has a beautiful, deep black color, clearly demonstrating the high quality of the wood from that era compared to today's standards. The neck is a modified V-shape with a 44.5mm nut width, and features Gotoh open-back tuners, following the specifications of the 000-28EC, Eric Clapton's signature model released the previous year.

Regarding its condition, the body has a deep, almost amber-colored patina, giving it a vintage guitar feel and an exceptional presence. There are a few dents on the lower part of the body top, but overall, there are few playing scratches, and no critical damage such as cracks in the wood.

Due to binding shrinkage, slight gaps are visible at the joints, such as the lower part of the neck heel and the nut gap, but any peeling due to aging has been properly repaired. The neck remains straight, and the string height at the 12th fret is a standard setting of approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string side and approximately 2mm on the 1st string side.

The truss rod has approximately 120 degrees of adjustment remaining, and the remaining saddle height from the top of the bridge is approximately 2.3mm on the 6th string side and approximately 2.3mm on the 1st string side. It appears to have been previously used with a double pickguard, as there are sun-faded marks from the previously attached pickguard on the bass string side of the top.
