Like the D-28, considered a world standard among Martin acoustic guitars, the D-18 has long been a beloved and active presence in the music scene. This particular instrument is the "D-18V," a reissue of the pre-war D-18.
Sadly, it was discontinued in 2011. This is a used item from 2011.
It features a Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides and back, ebony fingerboard and bridge, drop-in long saddle, Gotoh open-back tuners, old-style headstock logo, abalone fingerboard dots, tortoiseshell pickguard, tortoiseshell binding, and forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing. This model boasts a vintage-inspired design with butterbean open-back tuners, abalone fingerboard dots, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and old-style headstock logo.
It's an attractive guitar with a vibrant sound, bright highs and deep lows, and a voluminous yet clear and crisp output that cuts through the nasal air. This guitar excels not only with flat pick playing but also with fingerstyle playing due to its excellent response.
There is a slightly wide and deep dent near the bottom of the bridge on the 1st string side. Other minor scratches and dents are present, but the playing condition is good.
The D18V is becoming increasingly rare on the used market. A general-purpose hard case is included.
