Description

Music MAN 1977 Stingray Sunburst 05VG Used Bass Guitar 1977

The neck date is [APR 11 1977], the body date is [JUN 16 1977], and the pot dates are [137-7728, 137-7727, illegible]. Based on this, we have determined that it was manufactured in 1977.

It is undoubtedly a Pre-Ernie era instrument. Although the pot date is illegible, there are signs of solder repair, and unlike the other pots which have the date printed on the side, this one does not, so the possibility of it being replaced cannot be ruled out.

The body boasts a wild wood grain, and the fretboard shows a small amount of birdseye, giving it a truly impressive appearance. It is full of specifications from that era, such as the body without contours and the string-through-body bridge.

It was refretted immediately after arrival, resulting in excellent playability. The fretboard surface was also repainted as a result.

The truss rod is stiff in the tightening direction, but we were able to confirm it moves up to 180 degrees. The current string height setting is slightly high, so you might want to consider adjusting it with shims.

Also, the original pickguard is missing. A non-fixed type is included, but it does not have holes.
