Door Pottery in Madison Wisconsin was established by Scott Draves in 2001 and continues to produce numerous art pottery shapes in many sizes and glazes today. Scott has had talented potters working with him at times but for the last several years Scott designs, throws, and glazes all Door Pottery pieces himself.
This pot with "tab" handles is about 5-1/2 inches tall and 4-3/4 inches wide. The top rim is about 3 inches in diameter and the bottom rim is about 2-3/4 inches in diameter. It was finished in a rich semi-matte purple glaze that I would call Plum but they may not be the glaze name that Scott uses.
Impressed markings on the bottom include the vertical Door logo, Scott Draves, JT for John Tiller who threw the vase, and another mark on the left-hand side of the bottom photo that I can't identify for you.
It is in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and ready to use, add to a collection, or display all on its own.
Ships USPS.
