Shawnee Pottery in Zanesville Ohio made numerous figurines, planters, and kitchenware from 1937 to 1961.  Many pieces, like their line of Chanticleer rooster kitchenware, had detail that was hand-decorated, making each piece unique.

Both shakers are about 5 inches tall, 2-1/2 inches wide, and 4 inches front-to-back.  With a background of off-white glossy glaze, the maroon, green, and brown details were hand-decorated.  Both shakers have what appear to be their original corks.  The salt shaker has 5 holes.  The pepper shaker has 4 holes; it is very heavy and has what appears to be a solid chunk of pepper still inside.

Both shakers are in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing  - and ready to use, add to a collection, or display all on their own.
