Rosemeade Pottery in Wahpeton ND made numerous hand-painted pottery shapes from 1940 to 1961. Their many salt and peppers and figurines were very popular items in the area's souvenir shops. Often depicting animals or other subjects native to the area, they were very realistically shaped, detailed, and colored.
This small figurine shaped like a cowboy boot was glazed with a glossy reddish-brown glaze used frequently by Rosemeade. It is about 4 inches tall and 2-7/8 inches toe-to-heel.
It has the original Rosemeade foil label on the front and the Rosemeade inkstamp mark on the bottom.
An example can be seen on page 149 of the 2000 Collectors Encyclopedia of Rosemeade Pottery - Identification & Values - by Darlene Hurst Dommel.
As shown in the last photo, there is a small unglazed skip - not a chip - on the bottom rim. Over 60 years old, it is still in good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and ready to add to a collection or display all on its own.
Ships USPS.
