Chinese Cloisonne Dragon Teapot Guanyin Finial Bangle Decorative Guangxu Mark
Description
Decorative Chinese teapot with a cloisonné enamel shoulder and lid, red bangle bands, and openwork white-metal bands of dragons chasing pearls among clouds. The lid is topped with a seated Guanyin figure. The cobalt blue enamel shoulder shows a dragon among clouds and flowers.
The base carries a four-character Guangxu mark (光緒年製) and a second stamped mark. The Guangxu mark is apocryphal, as is usual on these decorative teapots, which were made in China in the 20th century. It does not date the piece to the Qing dynasty.
Decorative only, not for use as a teapot.
