Item up for bid is a fantastic 1940's black and white promotional photo showing legendary Big Band leader Harry James ( 1916 -1983 ) posing with his trumpet. These types of photos were commonly sent to fans who had written to the celebrity and features a facsimile signature across the lower section. Item was found in a 1940's scrap book filled with promotional photos of celebrities so this piece shows some wear and discoloration around edges and corners consistent with being taped inside a scrapbook for decades. Paper shows yellowing and patina throughout consistent with age with some bending around the corners with paper showing no rips, tears or holes.

James was noted for his work as a big band leader and his groundbreaking work on the Trumpet. In addition to leading his own band he was known for his time playing with Benny Goodman and for being the first high profile orchestra to feature the vocals of Frank Sinatra. In addition to his recordings and live performances he also had his music featured on radio programs and appeared in films.

Incredible promotional photo that comes fresh to the market from a recent estate buyout. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
