Team USA Phil Kessel 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships Throwback Jersey

Size: 52 (XL)

Brand/Model: Nike Authentic

Condition: 9/10. Great gently worn condition.

A throwback to Phil Kessel’s first appearance on the international stage, this Team USA jersey comes from the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championships in Vancouver. At just 18 years old, Kessel was one of the tournament’s most highly touted young stars and finished second in the tournament in scoring. The future NHL star would go on to become a three-time Stanley Cup champion and one of the most prolific American-born scorers ever, playing for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Arizona Coyotes, and Vegas Golden Knights.

This United States throwback jersey was an alternate worn for just a couple games during the tournament, and is one of the hardest USA jerseys to find. The name is not seen to the nameplate, which is an admittedly odd detail, but is accurate to how the game worn jerseys were constructed.

If you need this rare snapshot of Kessel before the NHL career that made him a household name, snag it now before it’s gone for good!
