Scarce late-19th-century Ottoman Turkish military/history publication titled Cezair ve Vekayi-i Harbiye, printed in Ottoman Turkish Arabic script and dating to approximately 1315 AH / 1897–1898.

The work appears to deal with contemporary events surrounding Crete and the Greco-Ottoman conflict of 1897, with historical and military accounts, illustrated material, portraits of Ottoman military figures, and folding maps. The period was one of major unrest in Crete followed by direct war between the Ottoman Empire and Greece in 1897.

This copy is bound in an older quarter-leather/marbled-board binding and bears a prominent Fahri Bilge collection/library stamp on the opening page.

Condition: Antiquarian condition with substantial exterior wear, rubbing and losses to the leather and marbled boards, old paper spine label, edge and corner wear, page toning, scattered foxing/staining and other signs of age and institutional/private-library use. The interior remains generally readable. Includes illustrated pages and at least one folding map; the pictured folding map has edge tears/losses. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition and completeness.
