Offered here is an original 1825 United States Classic Head Half Cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
This coin is attributed as the Cohen-1 (C-1) die marriage, the significantly scarcer of the two known varieties for 1825. The C-1 is generally rated Rarity-3 (R-3).
The coin retains strong circulated detail. Liberty’s portrait, hair curls, LIBERTY headband, date and surrounding stars remain clearly visible. The reverse retains strong HALF CENT lettering and considerable wreath detail.
This is a circulated, ungraded early copper coin and shows normal age and circulation characteristics including scratches/marks, surface coloration and areas of darker toning. Please examine the enlarged photographs carefully, as they form the best description of the coin’s condition.
