This is a famous print within 19th century sheet music circles and perhaps as well for collectors of early New York images in the print world. It is not only considered the first city view of New York on music (probably not taken from Staten Island as Dichter suggested, but from perhaps the Jersey shore, near Hackensack) but also is an early American lithograph. The first lithographed pictorial title page was produced on music in 1826. This one, a Pendleton litho, was put on stone by a Mr. Lopez in 1831. Only 4 copies turned up in an earlier search online, 3 of them at Lester Levy's archive at Johns Hopkins!  No copies were found at World Cat....? Featured in Levy's book 'Picture the Songs'. Endicott store stamp on Broadway. RARE. Collecting wizard John Carbonell sold a complete copy on eBay in 2006 for $450. Auction result attached.

Included in this sale is the 1956 Dichter formal facsimile published by musical Americana, his business. It is complete and interestingly, it is found on the World Catalogue though it only shows 7 copies of the 1956 printing. OCLC# 26323157.
