The Murphy Lab series, supervised by Tom Murphy, is the ultimate vintage replica aged model. To recreate the weather checking caused by aging, a lacquer with characteristics developed by analyzing nitrocellulose lacquer from the 1950s and 60s is used, resulting in realistic weather checking.

Furthermore, the thin paint texture gives it a natural feel approaching vintage, and the rich, powerful acoustic resonance is exceptional. This is the ultimate vintage clone series.

This particular model is a special R9, featuring a figured maple top selected at the factory. The wood materials consist of hand-selected figured maple, a one-piece mahogany back, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.

The moderately pronounced flecks and flame pattern that appears depending on the angle of light and viewing angle create an outstanding vintage Les Paul-like atmosphere. In addition, the aging process applied by Murphy Lab further enhances its vintage guitar appearance.

Furthermore, the orange-sunset fade color, reminiscent of aniline dyed cherry that has faded over time, further enhances the vintage replica feel. The guitar is equipped with two Custombucker pickups featuring Alnico 2 magnets.

In addition to its impressive response speed, it faithfully reproduces picking nuances. It outputs a well-balanced sound from high to low frequencies.

It boasts a thick, smooth sustain and a good sound that evokes a somewhat aged, vintage guitar feel.
