Ortofon MC 30 W Vintage Low-Output Moving Coil Phono Cartridge MC☆30W

The Ortofon MC 30 is a vintage low-output moving-coil phono cartridge. Is the flagship of Ortofon’s Japanese-market MC Star series, this one is a nice black and orange one made from a ground wood and resin compound. 

It features a Nude FG 80 tapered stylus. Because of its particularly low output, the MC 30 requires a suitable moving-coil phono input, head amplifier or step-up transformer. 


Condition:
  • These cartridges and stylus have been used. 

  • This set up has been tested. It is working well and sounds great! 

  • Because it is a low-output moving coil cartridge, it requires a dedicated MC phono preamplifier or an inline step-up transformer (SUT) plugged into a standard moving magnet (MM) phono stage to bring the signal up to normal listening volumes. 

  • This set up shows minor signs of use, nothing major. Please ensure to see all photos.
