R.L. Winston IM6 Tom Morgan’s Favorite fly rod.
This is a relatively early TMF from the G.Loomis blank era, serial number 25337. The 8' #4 configuration is one of the classic Tom Morgan’s Favorite models and is well suited for delicate dry-fly fishing and small to medium trout streams.
It has a half-wells cork grip and figured maple reel seat.

The rod tube has some small scratches and marks.
The rod sock has some staining near the end and also has a stamp from the former Japanese importer.
The cork grip shows some normal signs of use.
The maple reel seat is in very good condition with little visible wear.
The butt end has some surface scratches.
The butt section of the blank has several light surface scratches and handling marks.
The tip section appears to have been re-varnished or re-coated by a previous owner. The finish is uneven and has visible surface irregularities and raised areas, as shown in the photos. The work does not appear to be factory original.
The ferrules and guides appear sound.
Please examine all photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
Despite the cosmetic refinish on the tip section, this remains a desirable early Winston IM6 TMF with the classic G.Loomis-era construction and maple reel seat.
