Antique 10” Greiner Type Papier Mâché Doll Original Clothes Leather Hands

Charming antique 10-inch Greiner-type doll with a petite size and wonderfully sweet expression. She has a papier-mâché shoulder head, painted facial features, an antique cloth body, and darling little leather hands.

She appears to retain her original period clothing, including a printed dress with coordinating undergarments and accessories. The clothing is sewn onto the doll and has not been removed, so the body has not been fully examined beneath it. On the back of the shoulder plate, an outlined area and remaining residue indicate where a Greiner label was once attached but is now missing. She is therefore being described as a Greiner-type doll, rather than definitively attributed.

She measures approximately 10 inches tall—a particularly appealing, petite size that displays beautifully with larger antique dolls or in a small cabinet setting.

Condition is antique and shows age-related wear. The clothing has expected fading, discoloration, small stains, and general wear from age. The head, body, hands, clothing, and any other details should be carefully reviewed in the photographs, as they form an important part of the description. Because the original clothing is sewn on, I have not attempted to remove it or inspect the entire body underneath. The former label area is visible on the back of the shoulder plate.

A truly darling little early doll with wonderful character, original presentation, and especially appealing leather hands.
