Red Sundown is a 1956 American Western about a hardened gunslinger who tries to leave his violent past behind and takes a job as a deputy sheriff in a small town. When a powerful rancher and his hired guns threaten the town, the ex-gunslinger must decide whether to pick up his gun again to protect the people he cares about.
The film is a solid, tough-minded 1950s Western with good action and moral conflict.
It stars Rory Calhoun as the gunslinger-turned-deputy, Martha Hyer, Dean Jagger, and Robert Middleton as the ruthless rancher.
