Original WWII-era KA-BAR U.S. Navy MK2 fighting and utility knife with a period USN MK2 Navy scabbard.
The guard is marked “KA-BAR” on one side and “USN MK2” on the other. This variation features a thick steel pommel secured by peening at the end of the tang.

The knife appears to have seen relatively little actual use. The blade retains its original profile and does not appear to have been resharpened. There are areas where the original blade finish has become thin, along with scattered light surface rust and oxidation. Some rust is also present along the cutting edge and on the guard.
The stacked leather handle remains solid, with no looseness or movement. The thick pommel is firmly secured.
The Navy scabbard shows age and wear. There is a crack along one side of the scabbard, and rust and oxidation are present on the rivets and other metal fittings. The canvas belt hanger also shows discoloration and general wear.
A desirable original guard-marked KA-BAR USN MK2 variation with an intact, unaltered blade profile.
