The body has no large scratches or dents, but there are several fine scratches on the LCD surface, and the yellow rubber holster has dirt and fine scratches (some staining did not come off even after wiping with anhydrous ethanol). Inside the battery compartment, the sponge-like cushion material has deteriorated with age and is crumbling; the case was not opened, so we could not check whether any fragments reached the inside.

- Power: turns on normally (9V battery operation)
- Display: all LCD segments light up, no missing or blurred segments (fine scratches on the LCD surface only)
- Rotary switch positions checked: V AC / V DC / Ohms / mA / uA (other positions not checked)
- Buttons: HOLD, MIN MAX, RANGE, REL, Hz%, PEAK MIN MAX, blue and yellow buttons all respond
- Blue button quirk: push-in feel is sluggish on this unit (it did not return on the first press and returned on the second)
- DC voltage: OK (AA alkaline cell 1.5V, reads 1.484 V forward / -1.483 V reversed)
- AC voltage: OK (AC 100V wall outlet, reads 104.0 V)
- Resistance: OK (open circuit shows OL, leads shorted shows 000.9 Ohms)
- Continuity beeper: OK (buzzer sounds when shorted; verbal report, no photo)
- Capacitance: OK (0.38 nF with leads open, reasonable residual value)
- Conductance: OK (nS range, 00.00 nS with leads open)
- Frequency: OK (AC 100V line, 50.02 Hz)
- Duty cycle: OK (050.4 percent)
- Slope select: OK (switched from + to - with the PEAK MIN MAX button)

- AC current: OK (approx. 12.6 mA from a 1 kHz 1 Vpp sine source; reading was unstable due to lack of a BNC-to-banana adapter, so verbal report only, no photo)
- AC/DC switching: OK (uA range, DC 0768 uA / AC 038.0 uA)
- MIN MAX: OK (MAX / MIN / AVG cycling, cleared by long press)
- REL: OK (relative symbol and difference shown, cleared by pressing again)

- Input alert: OK (continuous chirp when the leads are left in the mA/uA jack and the switch is turned to V AC); the on-screen text warning itself could not be confirmed, audible alert only

It features a 4000-count display with analog bar graph, a selectable high-resolution mode, MIN MAX AVG recording, relative mode, touch hold, backlight and a fused current input for safe measurements.
