Plot Synopsis: Bestselling romance novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) crashes his car during a blinding blizzard in a remote mountainous area. He is rescued by Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), a former nurse who claims to be his "number one fan." As he recuperates in her isolated cabin, Annie discovers Paul plans to kill off her favorite book character, causing her to spiral into severe, violent mania as she holds him hostage.
