Prepare the molds: Before mixing the concrete, make sure the molds are clean and free of dirt. If it has been used before, clean it with soapy water or industrial alcohol. Brush just a little light vegetable oil or mold release agent into the forms. A mold release agent is recommended, but not required. Not using a release agent will make the stone more difficult to release and you will need to be more careful about damaging the mold. However, too much release agent can cause bubbles to form on the appearance.
Mixing concrete.
Always wear proper safety equipment (rubber and anti particle face mask) when mixing concrete.
Mixing can be done by hand using a proper concrete mixer, a wheelbarrow with a concrete hoe, or with a in a bucket. It is very important to take the time to mix everything completely.
Tip: Adding coloring to the concrete will make the stepping stones look more natural and beautiful.
Filling the mold.
Fill the bottom of the mold with concrete and tap it firmly to remove air bubbles. Then fill the mold completely to the top and glossy the top appearance by hand so that the concrete is flat and level. Finish the mold by tapping and shaking to get rid of as many air bubbles as possible. Curing and demolding.
Once the molds are filled, place the molds on a horizontal table. Cover with plastic wrap and wait less than 24 hours for curing.
