2009 Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD Limited – 90,000 Miles – Spares or Repairs

2009 Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD Limited automatic diesel.

Only around 90,000 miles, which is low for the year.

This is the Limited/top-spec model, including the roof-mounted DVD screens.

The vehicle recently failed its MOT. Registration is VU09 ZYS, so you can check the most recent MOT failure online. In my opinion, the failure itself wasn’t particularly terrible, but please make your own assessment.

It also has a gearbox fault. It sometimes appears to stick in 2nd or 3rd gear. If the engine is switched off and restarted, it will normally drive properly again for a while.

I have already serviced the gearbox but I don’t want to get involved in changing solenoids or further diagnosis.

Other points to be aware of:

• One electric sliding side door does not currently open.
• Slight vibration when reversing. Engine mounts are a known issue on these, although I have not diagnosed it.
• Engine management light came on while driving to the MOT station. It has since been reset and is currently off, with no fault codes showing. The engine itself seems to run very well.
• Brand-new battery fitted. It went flat after the vehicle had been parked for around three weeks, but has now been recharged and is fine again.
• Bodywork/interior are a little tatty in places, as you would expect from a project vehicle.
• I cannot see any significant rust.

With some work, I think it could make a very useful family car again.

The vehicle was bought from the trade, so the new owner will need to apply/send off for the V5. I have the relevant paperwork.

I simply have too many cars, need the space, and don’t want to spend more time investigating the gearbox.

Yes, it drives, but it has a gearbox fault and NO MOT.
