This piece embodies an air of refined elegance. Classic and timeless, displaying such distinction that it will be noticed from across the room.
DETAILS:
Case: ‘Clipper’ model. Round, though noticeably different and subtly sophisticated with broad almost claw like lugs. The 10kt rolled gold plated bezel and stainless steel case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. In general the case looks great with modest wear/scratches present commensurate with the age of the watch.
Crown: Original showing some wear. Signed ‘Bulova’.
Dial: Accentuating and complementing the rich lustre of the case, the pearl tone two-tone bow-tie design dial is in its original condition and is showing age related wear, scuffs and patina. The even number hour positions are numerals with a shiny gold tone finish and black border, whilst the odd positions are pointed markers slightly raised on the dial. The ‘Bulova’ name, ‘selfwinding’ and minute chapter are in black. The hour positions along with the hands have been relumed and now glow well in the dark.
Hands: The hour, minute and sweep second hands are original, gilt, showing a little tarnish.
Movement: BULOVA Swiss manual & selfwinding movement. This is a fine classic 10CSC calibre with 17 jewels and is marked ‘L3’ for 1953. The movement allows for both manual and self-winding. It is designed to prevent over-winding. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and at the time of listing is running well keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended.
Size: Round, approx. 30.91mm in diameter (excluding lugs). Approx. 40.30mm including the lugs.
Band: A new 18mm black leather band with gold tone buckle has been fitted which sets off this watch perfectly.

General comments:
This is a delightful example of a Bulova ‘Clipper’ which has been restored to appeal once again and as I’m sure you will agree, it certainly does. The 10kt gold plated case with original dial make the watch highly attractive. The watch has a pleasing classic look and feel that simply cannot be found in newer watches.
If you have always wanted to own a classic wristwatch this charming Bulova ‘Clipper’ manual & selfwinding watch may be the one for you.
The watch will come with a new stylish card presentation box – a nice touch so you are not searching around for something to put the watch in.

- This is a vintage manual & selfwinding watch with a movement from 1953 and as such it will not have the accuracy of a contemporary quartz movement therefore perfect time accuracy cannot be expected. If you want a watch to simply put on and go – then perhaps this is not the best choice you could make – however, if you want a period timepiece that you can admire and enjoy on each occasion you wear it, then this is a great item.

- Colours may appear somewhat different when viewed in person depending upon the light source. In this case photos were taken using a combination of natural and fluorescent light.
