DETAILS:
Case: ‘Sea King’ model. Distinctive and functional, the bezel has angular lugs mounting the band. Original and signed BULOVA on the back. The 10kt gold electro-plated bezel and stainless steel case back have been cleaned & lightly repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. There is some plating loss to the right hand side top and bottom lugs, please take a moment to be sure you are happy with this. In general the case is showing wear/scratches commensurate with the age of the watch. The watch is NOT waterproof.
Crown: Original, showing some wear.
Dial: Complementing the distinctiveness of the case, the golden sunburst dial is in its original condition. The quarter hour positions are marked with bold, arrow shaped markers with a central ridge. The remaining hour positions have smaller markers of the same design. The ‘Bulova’ name, whale logo, ‘automatic’, minute chapter and ‘swiss made’ are in black. The hour positions along with the hands have not been relumed as they still glow well in the dark.
Hands: Hour, minute and sweep second hands are original, gilt, pitched ‘Dauphine’ style design. All in great condition.
Movement: BULOVA Swiss automatic movement. This is a fine classic 11BLAC calibre with 23 jewels marked ‘M9’ for 1969. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and at the time of listing is running well keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended.
Size: Round, measures approx. 33.42mm in diameter excluding the lugs and crown. Approx. 38.51mm lug to lug.
Band: A new 18mm black leather band with gold tone buckle has been fitted complementing the timepiece perfectly.

General comments:
This is a delightful example of a Bulova ‘Sea King’ automatic watch from 1969 which has been restored to appeal once again. The repolished case with eye-catching golden sunburst dial make the watch highly attractive and very noticeable indeed. There is some plating loss to the right hand lugs.

- This is a vintage manual and selfwinding watch with a movement from 1969, and as such it will not have the accuracy of a contemporary quartz movement therefore perfect time accuracy cannot be expected. If you want a watch to simply put on and go – then perhaps this is not the best choice you could make – however, if you want a period timepiece that you can admire and enjoy on each occasion you wear it, then this is a great item.

- Colours may appear somewhat different when viewed in person depending upon the light source. In this case photos were taken using a combination of natural and fluorescent light.
