Richly textured and glowing with warm gold tones, Avon’s Braided Sparkle Necklace features a sculptural curved centrepiece set with six clear round rhinestones. Each stone sits within its own swirling textured section, creating a design that resembles twisted metal, flowing gold and organic bark-like forms, with the sparkle neatly balanced across the front.

Released by Avon in 1990, the necklace is finished in 22ct gold plating. The centre section measures 4 cm wide (1.57 in) and combines raised, braided-looking textures with six individually set clear rhinestones.

The necklace measures 40 cm long (15.75 in) and fastens with a traditional bolt-ring clasp. The reverse of the centre section bears Avon’s circle-and-dot maker’s mark, associated with Avon jewellery of this period. Avon released the necklace in the USA and did not issue it in Australia.

This necklace came from my mother’s extensive Avon jewellery collection and has been very well looked after. It remains in near-new condition with no apparent wear, damage or issues.
