This postcard is part of our exclusive series created from punch card documents uncovered in the dusty vaults of the U.S. National Archives (NARA). Once used to power early computers and recordkeeping systems, these fragile cards sat untouched for decades — until now.
We've digitally restored and preserved these relics of bureaucratic history, transforming them into collectible postcards that celebrate a lost analog world. Printed on heavyweight 300g glossy stock, each card is a slice of mid-century government tech — delivered to your door.
Each card features our signature NARA design. The full story behind the original image is included in this listing.
Rare historical postcard capturing a moment of respite during World War II. The image shows a diverse audience of military personnel and a celebrity enjoying a live show at an African Radio Station, courtesy of the traveling ENSA (Entertainments National Service Association). In the front row, from left to right, are notable figures: Lt. Gen. Carl A. Spaatz, Commanding General of the Northwest African Air Forces; Lord Trenchard, known as the "Father of the RAF"; Maj. Gen. James Doolittle, Commanding General of the Northwest African Strategic Air Forces; and the famous actress Vivien Leigh, known for her role in "Gone With The Wind". The event was presented at the request of soldiers who couldn't attend the regular show the night before. This photograph was taken in North Africa during the war, highlighting a moment of camaraderie and entertainment amidst the conflict. The image is an official photograph, copied and released in 1946, adding to its historical significance.
