Cosmetically this is a used unit with visible scratches and dirt from normal field use (equivalent to a Japanese B rank). The line and bubble-like white marks on the LCD surface come from a lifted protective film, not from damage to the display itself, and the rotary dial markings are not noticeably worn. The yellow holster and hand strap are fitted, the rear printing is legible, there are no burn marks around the input terminals, and the battery compartment is clean with no leakage residue or corrosion.
Operation Check
Power-on confirmed with four C-size cells installed (cells were borrowed from in-house stock for testing and are not included). The LCD shows no missing segments, the analog bar graph has no missing bars, and the backlight lights and switches on and off. The rotary switch operates at every position and the TEST, LOCK, ZERO, backlight and continuity beeper keys all respond. BATTERY CHECK showed 100 percent. DC voltage was checked against an Agilent E3640A: 5.00 V output was displayed as 5 VDC (1 V resolution, so this matches). The 4 kilo-ohm range with continuity beeper works (beeper sounds on a shorted probe, over-range >4000 Ohm with leads open), and the Lo-Ohm range with ZERO returns 0.00 Ohm after zeroing. All three insulation test voltages were checked individually and produced 271 VDC, 540 VDC and 1056 VDC, with over-range indications of >1000 MOhm, >2000 MOhm and >4000 MOhm respectively with the leads open. LOCK continuous testing works (output continued at 1056 VDC with the LOCK, lock and high-voltage icons lit and the beeper sounding), automatic discharge down to 0 VDC after release was confirmed, the last reading is held after discharge, and auto power-off after roughly 10 minutes of inactivity was confirmed.
Not verified: AC voltage measurement could not be read on a live outlet because the supplied probe tips are short with a thick body and could not reach the contacts inside a Japanese wall socket; the V range does display VAC and 0 V normally, and DC measurement was correct, so there is no evidence of a fault, but an actual AC reading was not taken. Insulation resistance accuracy was not verified because no high-voltage reference resistor was available in-house; only the output voltages and over-range indications were confirmed. The over-30 V input warning and automatic switch-over to voltage display could not be tested as no 30 V or higher source was available. No calibration certificate, no calibration sticker, and no calibration date could be confirmed.
