By Francois Bignon (1620-1671) after the drawing by Zacharie Heince (1611-1669). -- Sheet dimensions: approx. 23.5x18cm. -- With staple holes in the left outer margin; otherwise in good condition. // From the very rare work ''Les Portraictz au naturel with les armories et qualitez de Messieurs les Plenipotentiaires assemblez a Munster et Osnaburg pour faire la Paix Generale.''. Bignon's portraits were copied many times in the coming years, for example for Merian's Theatrum Europeaum. || Very rare copper engraved portrait with coat of arms from 1648. By Francois Bignon (1620-1671) after the drawing by Zacharie Heince (1611-1669). -- With binding holes on the left outer margin, otherwise in good condition. // From the very rare work ''Les Portraictz au naturel with les armories et qualitez de Messieurs les Plenipotentiaires assembledz a Munster et Osnaburg pour faire la Paix Generale.' Bignon's portraits were the basis for many later engravings among them those in Matthaeus Merian's Theatrum Europaeum, for instance.
