Rare silver Akçe issued during the reign of Sultan Bayezid I (Yıldırım Bayezid), one of the most influential early Ottoman rulers. Dated AH 792 (1389–1390 CE), this coin was struck during the beginning of his reign and represents the early Ottoman monetary system. Featuring traditional Arabic inscriptions, the Akçe served as the principal silver denomination of the empire.
