Classic Soviet-era Zenit-E 35mm SLR fitted with the sought-after Helios-44-2 58mm f/2 M42 screw-mount lens, well known for its distinctive rendering and characteristic swirling bokeh.

Both the camera body and lens serial numbers begin 74, dating them to 1974.

The camera has received basic mechanical testing. The shutter winds and fires correctly, shutter speeds audibly vary, Bulb mode operates correctly and the self-timer functions. The Helios lens focuses smoothly.

The internal accessible optical/mirror surfaces have also been carefully inspected and cleaned.

Please note: the camera has not been film-tested and shutter speeds have not been professionally calibrated, so it is being sold on the basis of the testing described above rather than as professionally serviced.

A dark vertical line is visible through the viewfinder but as not filmtested it cannot be confirmed if it will affect the images. However pictures supplied of the 2x internal mirrors this line is not visible so assumed the line is only visible in the viewfinder.

Supplied with front lens cap, fitted vintage camera case with shoulder strap and separate Hama padded camera bag. The case and strap show normal age-related wear.
