FULL SPECTRUM converted (UV/INFRARED) SONY NEX-5 14.2MP BODY (ONLY) BLACK 3375A

In  excellent condition, body has very minor signs of use,  screen is perfect (with no screen protector).  Fully working with no faults .  Comes with (USB- with lead) charger (new), body cap and x2 battery (both  good- not Sony ) , Sony flash and a strap

Professional conversion.  


Shutter count of just 7K (Mechanical- the one that counts- how may times the shutter moves, 14K including electronic)  .   In great condition 


This is a full spectrum camera, because of this it is highly sensitive to red and infrared light.

It works with Sony E mount lenses (and will autofocus perfectly) , it can (obviously) also be used with manual focus lenses (with the right adapter) 

Making it perfect for infrared or astrophotography.

It will need to be used with the appropriate filters 

Its perfect for use in astrophotography and is massively more sensitive to hydrogen alpha 
(delivering those rich red nebula images) .  With a camera or telescope it would normally be used with 
an astrophotography appropriate Infrared/UV filter cutoff, narrowband or broadband nebula filters.  

For infrared it can be used with any infrared photographic filters (720,760,850,940 etc),

These are available cheaply on either eBay or Amazon 

The first 2 images were taken with this camera with a standard Sony 18-55mm and a 720nm filter (Zomei) 

The others images were taken with either an orange filter (pig iron YA3) or a 

720nm filter (Hoya) using a converted Nex 5 s.

Using a standard Sony 18-55mm and red/blue channel swapped (with the free software GIMP).

If  you google "Channel swapping infrared in GIMP" there is a very good tutorial on how to do this 

Its capable of delivering stunning images in false colour or black and white with the appropriate filter 

You can even use it as a conversional visible light camera with an infrared/UV cutoff filter fitted to the lens.
