A handsome vintage silver-plated cigarette box by Aristocrat, made in England, with a lovely wood-lined interior.

The lid has a fine Art Deco-style engine-turned pattern with a blank central cartouche, ready for engraving if you'd like to personalise it. The sides are plain polished, with a full-length piano hinge at the back and a shaped thumb-piece at the front. Inside, the wooden lining is divided into two compartments, and the underside of the lid has a gold-toned finish. It sits on four domed feet.

It's no longer just for cigarettes. It makes a stylish desk box, jewellery or keepsake box, or a gift for someone who loves vintage accessories.

The base is stamped ARISTOCRAT, H.E.P.N.S.B, MADE IN ENGLAND. This is electroplated nickel silver, not solid silver.
