- Binding: Genuine 1943 copies feature light tan/fawn cloth boards with red and blue lettering.
- Original 1943 Price: The original retail price printed on the dust jacket flap of the 1943 first edition was $2.75.
Some wear from reading/storage; the dust jacket is missing, but the original dust jacket flaps are affixed to the inside front/back covers; the cover has some edge tears; the cover and some pages have a few spots of staining; and the book is ex-library, so it has some library related markings on its first/last few pages But otherwise, this book is in fair shape. Pages are crisp and clean. No torn or missing pages.
