Up for sale is a rare piece of British civil aviation history: an original metal embossing die featuring the official winged logo of the Air Registration Board (ARB).

This solid metal die was used by administrative clerks to press the official corporate seal onto official correspondence and letterheads. The ARB operated as the independent UK aircraft airworthiness authority from 1937 until it was dissolved into the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in 1972. Official internal office hardware like this was typically destroyed, making this a highly scarce survivor.

Included Provenance:
The die comes paired with an authentic vintage British postal cover. The envelope features a 3d Queen Elizabeth II Wilding stamp, hand-cancelled in Wokingham. It is addressed directly to:
The Secretary, Air Registration Board, Brabazon House, Redhill, Surrey.
Brabazon House served as the headquarters for the ARB's Airworthiness Division during the late 1950s and 1960s. This envelope provides the perfect historical context and proof of use for the metal die.
Condition:
Both items are in vintage condition. The metal die features crisp engraving lines with minor surface wear consistent with age and administrative use. The envelope shows standard postal creases and wear as pictured. Please review the photos for exact condition.
