We have a collectors souvenir spoon from the 1893 Colombian Exposition World’s Fair held in Chicago. The spoon depicts the Electrical Building, a famous structure built for this exposition in celebration of the first world’s fair to be entirely lit by electricity. the spoon has a rendition of the building in the bowl portion with the wording “Worlds Fair” and the dates 1492 and 1892 visible on the handle. The only wording on the backside is “made in Germany“. I believe this example to be silver plate as no other markings regarding the metal content are visible anywhere on the piece. The spoon measures 5 7/8” long. In used condition with the silver plate relatively good with a picture of a worn spot on the backside of the spoon in the area near the beginning of the handle. For those collecting items from this era in history, a great souvenir to add to your collection. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous antiques and collectibles in the near future.
Thank you.
