A very attractive Majolica milk pitcher from the late 1800s most likely originating from Europe, possibly England. The basic form has a bamboo handle with a slatted style background. A cluster of small purple blooms with accompanying orange leaves covers half of each side, a molded ribbon and bow circle the upper third of the jug. The piece is unmarked so I am unsure as to the factory of origin. The piece stands 7”  tall to top of spout and 6 1/2” from back of handle to spout. I can find no chips, cracks, damage or repairs to this item. I will point out areas of slightly darker crazing especially in the region of the spout and handle from use. I also noticed a couple pinhead intentions in the handle occurring during the manufacturing process. The gold gilt on the rim and areas of the mold show wear from use, very common due to the low firing temperature for this color.  I currently have a larger size of similar mold up for auction. Would make a nice addition, a nice pair if both were purchased.  Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
