Rosemeade Pottery in Wahpeton ND made numerous hand-painted pottery shapes from 1940 to 1961.  Their many animal-shaped salt and peppers were very popular items in the area's souvenir shops.  Often depicting animals native to the area, they were very realistically shaped, detailed, and colored.  

This swan salt and pepper set in a black glossy glaze with hand-painted amber beaks and feet are a great example of Rosemeade's hand-painted attention to detail.  They are the same size - about 2 inches tall, 1-1/4 inches wide, and 2-3/4 inches beak-to-tail.  The salt shaker with 3 holes and still has an original foil label.  The pepper shaker has 2 holes.  Both have what appears to be their original corks.

Over 60 years old, these are in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and ready add to a collection or display all on their own.
