Up for sale is a high-quality, vintage Suunto KB-14/360R precision optical reading hand bearing compass, precision-crafted in Helsinki, Finland. Based on the classic typography, distinct green box design, and accompanying literature, this professional-grade surveying and navigation instrument dates back to circa the 1970s (or potentially late 1960s). This is a highly collectible yet functional example that comes complete with its original green card box, the official instructional manual pamphlet, a protective genuine leather pouch, and a red lanyard strap (originality unverified).
The solid anodised aluminium housing is in clean vintage condition with some minor, light surface scratches from historical field use. The internal compass card dampens quickly and settles accurately. Please note that the clear acrylic dial window exhibits some noticeable hairline surface scratches and internal spider-web cosmetic crazing around the central pivot. This is entirely contained, does not leak any damping fluid, and does not affect the rotation or legibility of the dial. The original booklet manual is included and the brown leather pouch is intact with its vintage paper label. The outer green card box shows age-related storage wear, including a missing end tab and a slight tear along the edge. The detailed photographs show the true cosmetic condition far better than any written description can, so please review them thoroughly.
