Vax state it cleans up to 5 times better than a high performance vacuum cleaner, and that when used with Platinum solution it removes up to 93 percent of bacteria.
Cleaning comes from an XL brush bar with 7 SpinScrub brushes, which agitate deep into carpet fibres and lift out embedded dirt and stains rather than skimming the surface. Behind that sits a 1200W motor, considerably more powerful than the 800W typical of a standard vacuum, and that extra suction is what pulls the water back out and gets carpets dry in as little as an hour using the Quick Clean function.
Automix Technology takes the guesswork out of dosing, automatically mixing the correct ratio of solution and water every time. There is an integrated pre-treatment wand for loosening stubborn stains and pet accidents before washing, and separate wash and rinse modes so carpets can be rinsed through with clean water.
Capacities are generous: a 3.5 litre clean water tank and a 2.9 litre dirty water tank, so fewer interruptions on a big job. A 9 metre cord and a 2.5 metre stretch hose cover stairs, upholstery and car interiors, and a hard floor squeegee tool extends it to tiles and sealed laminate.

Two things worth knowing. First, this is a substantial machine at 9.6kg, which is what gives it its cleaning power but does make it heavier to carry up stairs than a lighter model. Second, it is notably loud in use, which is a direct consequence of the large motor and seven SpinScrub brushes.
Vax cleaning solution is a consumable and is sold separately. We would recommend using Vax Platinum solution, as the 93 percent bacteria removal figure is specifically based on it.
