The Sony MDS-S39 is a MiniDisc deck released in 1998. It supports MiniDisc recording and playback using Sony's ATRAC audio compression system. It features analog line input/output, two optical digital inputs, one optical digital output, and a headphone output. It also supports functions such as digital recording level control, six-second Time Machine Recording, Level Sync, and track editing from the remote control. The unit is equipped with a 20-bit A/D converter and a hybrid pulse D/A converter. A wireless remote control was supplied with the unit.
