The Real Car

The Porsche 917 was the 4.5- and 5-litre sports-prototype that won Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. JW Automotive ran the factory-supported cars in Gulf light blue and orange. Number 2 is the Gulf 917K livery collectors look for. Solido’s 917 is the period 1:43 issue of that car, with an opening tail — the same window-box series as the Gulf Mirage and Alpine Rallye 1600.
