Opening cockpit section. Unused transfer sheet included (additional #5 roundels, Gulf and Ford logos, orange stripes). Presented in the original Solido red-and-yellow window box, titled gulf mirage.

The Real Car

The Gulf Mirage was JW Automotive’s Ford-powered sports-prototype of the early 1970s, run in the light-blue and orange Gulf colours that followed the 917. It raced at Le Mans and in the World Sportscar Championship. Solido’s 17 is the period 1:43 issue of that car, with opening bodywork and a separate transfer sheet — the same window-box series as the Quattro and XJ12 already listed.
