Rare antique 19th-century pocket set of artist's Claude Lorrain glass filters, featuring multicolored tinted glass lenses mounted on pivoting tortoiseshell arms. This set is comprising of six coloured glass filters, (green, yellow, blue, red, violet & brown), each about 3cm in diameter, and framed on individual eared tortoiseshell arms, pivoting from the main tortoiseshell case. Surviving intact & in great condition from I believe the William IV to early Victorian period of England. Exact age unknown. Rare to find six original glass filters in a pocket set like this. Glass not cracked or chipped. The case has a few marks which may clean off (I have not cleaned it), there is a small chip on one side of the case and on one of the arms of the red filter.
