Face-up with freckles by Charlene Smith - ZaZou Custom Dolls wig - Certificate of Authenticity

Makki is a 20 cm (approx. 8 in) Chibbi-size ball-jointed doll in Meadow Dolls' tan resin, from the general tan preorder of 5-19 June 2022.

She has grey-green eyes, a soft pouting mouth, and freckles scattered across her nose and cheeks - the freckling is part of Charlene Smith's face-up and is one of the things that makes her stand out. Her wig is long, straight and strawberry-blonde, worn with a pink clip. She wears a cream floral dress, cream knit tights, tan lace-up boots, and carries a small pink bag.

ABOUT HER FACE-UP AND HER WARDROBE

Meadow Dolls sell their dolls blank and nude - wigs, clothing and shoes are never included - so every dressed Meadow Dolls doll has been dressed by her owner. Here is exactly what that means for this doll.

Her face-up is by Charlene Smith - the only face-up artist Meadow Dolls offer. It was ordered with the doll at the time of purchase and has never been repainted or altered since. This is the original commissioned artist face-up, not an aftermarket repaint. Charlene Smith is widely regarded as one of the most sought-after face-up artists working in the BJD and MDCC world - an award-winning painter who also works with bbflockling, and has collaborated with Kaye Wiggs and Berdine Creedy.

Her wardrobe I assembled myself, and it is included in full:

- ZaZou Custom Dolls wig, size 6-7, long straight strawberry blonde. ZaZou wigs are made on a tan cap rather than white mesh, so the cap reads as scalp instead of showing as a pale line at the parting - a real quality difference if you have ever fought a white-cap wig.

- Cream floral dress

- Cream knit tights

- Tan lace-up boots

- Pink hair clip and a small pink bag

She comes with her Meadow Dolls Certificate of Authenticity and her original pink gingham packaging.

Please note: this is the general tan preorder Makki, not the DOLLS Magazine prize doll. That one was fair skin, limited to 30, with a factory face-up, and was awarded by drawing. This doll is a different release and I would rather say so plainly.

CONDITION

She has been displayed in a cabinet and never played with. In her photographs the tan resin is clean and even in tone, with no cracks, chips or repairs visible, and her Charlene Smith face-up with freckles is intact and unmarked. I have not tested her stringing or examined the resin under daylight - if either matters to you, ask before you buy and I will check and photograph whatever you would like to see.

ABOUT THIS SALE

I am liquidating a personal doll collection built up over about twenty-five years, and everything I am listing comes from that collection. I am the original owner of most of it. These pieces have been stored and displayed, not played with, and they are being sold because it is time for them to go to people who will enjoy them rather than sit in boxes. I am not a dealer and I am not sourcing these from anywhere - this is one collector's shelves, being emptied.

Purchased new directly from Meadow Dolls at preorder, paid on their layaway plan, and owned by me since. She comes with her Meadow Dolls Certificate of Authenticity.

She ships exactly as she came to me from her maker - tied into her own padded roll-up pillow, which is rolled, tied closed and sealed in a protective sleeve. Nothing has been unwrapped or repacked. That bundle is bubble-wrapped and cushioned inside a sturdy outer box. Her maker's pillow is included and travels with her. Shipped USPS Priority Mail, insured for the full sale price, within 1-2 business days with tracking. From a smoke-free home.

 Shipping is a flat $25. I am glad to combine shipping - if you are buying more than one item from me, wait for a combined invoice or ask me for one and I will adjust the total before you pay.
