A compact portable Bluetooth speaker in blue and silver, carrying Brook Taverner branding. Brook Taverner are a British menswear company established in 1912, and this speaker was produced as one of their own branded lifestyle items rather than sold through general retail, which makes it a slightly unusual piece to come across.
It connects wirelessly over Bluetooth to phones, tablets, laptops and PCs, so music, podcasts, radio apps and calls all play through it without any cables. It also accepts a micro SD card, meaning it can play music directly from a card without a phone connected at all, which is genuinely useful in a garden or workshop where you would rather not leave a phone lying about.
Its size is the point. Small and light enough to sit on a kitchen worktop, a garden table, a desk or in a suitcase, it is designed for home, garden and travel use where a full sized speaker would be impractical. The blue and silver finish gives it a smarter look than the plastic block styling of many budget speakers.
It also makes a straightforward gift, being the sort of thing that gets used regularly rather than put in a drawer.

This item is described as new other. It is unused, but it is no longer factory sealed and the original packaging may have been opened, may be damaged, or may be missing.
It may show very minor handling marks from storage or from having been unboxed. Because this is an open box item, please do not assume the charging cable is present unless it is pictured. Please note this is a branded promotional item produced for Brook Taverner rather than a mainstream consumer audio product, so it should be judged as a compact everyday speaker rather than compared with premium audio brands.
The speaker should be given a full charge before first use. As with any rechargeable device, it is best not left fully discharged for long periods.
Pairing is done through the Bluetooth settings on your phone, tablet or computer in the usual way. For micro SD playback, a card is inserted directly into the speaker, and cards are inexpensive and widely available.
While suitable for garden use, this is not stated to be a waterproof or weatherproof speaker, so it should be brought indoors and kept out of rain.
