The Debra Audio AU400 is a four channel UHF wireless microphone system, and it is the company's best selling model for good reason. It lets four people speak or sing at once, wirelessly, into a single receiver, which is exactly what is needed for a church service, a conference, a classroom, a wedding, a small stage or a family karaoke night.
It uses the UHF band rather than the older VHF frequencies. That matters in practice, because traditional low frequency wireless microphones are prone to interference from harmonics thrown off by DVD players and other digital equipment. UHF operation with a proper squelch circuit gives noticeably more stable transmission and cleaner audio in a busy room full of equipment.
This configuration is supplied with four bodypack transmitters, each usable with a lavalier (clip on) microphone or a headset microphone. Bodypacks are the right choice when you need hands free operation, so speakers, presenters, teachers, performers and clergy can move freely without holding anything.
The metal receiver is built to last rather than being a plastic shell, with individual volume controls for each channel and audio signal indicators so you can see at a glance which microphone is live. Output options include a mixed 6.35mm jack output combining all four microphones into one signal, making connection to a mixer, powered speaker or PA system straightforward.

The AU400 is a fixed frequency system supplied in two frequency sets, A and B. If you intend to run two AU400 systems in the same venue at the same time, you would need one A band set and one B band set to avoid the two interfering on identical frequencies. Please also note that wireless microphone frequency use is regulated, and permitted frequencies vary by country. UK buyers should satisfy themselves that the frequencies of this system fall within the licence exempt or licensed bands appropriate to their intended use before purchase.
The system needs to be connected to a mixer, amplifier, powered speaker or PA system, as the receiver has no amplification or speakers of its own.
