Directed by Tony Randel from a screenplay by Peter Atkins and a story by Clive Barker, Hellbound: Hellraiser II continues Kirsty Cotton’s nightmare as she is committed to a psychiatric hospital following the events of the original film.

The sequel dramatically expands the mythology of the Cenobites, taking viewers deeper into their nightmarish world and introducing Leviathan and the labyrinth of Hell. Its elaborate practical effects, surreal imagery and uncompromising gore have made Hellbound one of the most celebrated sequels in 1980s horror.

1989 New World Video Unrated Edition

This is the collectible 1989 New World Video original U.S. VHS release of Hellbound: Hellraiser II in its desirable UNRATED presentation.

The original slipcase features the distinctive black-and-red New World Video artwork with Pinhead and Julia, the tagline “Time to Play,” and prominent diagonal UNRATED banner across the front.

Unlike the theatrical R-rated presentation, this edition is specifically identified on the original packaging and cassette as the Unrated Version, making it an especially appealing release for collectors seeking original-era Hellraiser home video editions.

The cassette retains its original New World Video Hellbound: Hellraiser II face and spine labels, along with a surviving vintage “Please Rewind This Tape” video-store sticker.

Condition

Pre-owned vintage condition.

The original New World Video slipcase retains strong color and vivid artwork and presents nicely for its age. The black, red and blue cover remains particularly striking, with the original UNRATED banner clearly displayed.

There is normal age-related shelf and handling wear along the edges and corners, including rubbing, light creasing and small areas of paper wear, particularly around the opening and lower corners. A vintage orange price/inventory sticker remains on the lower spine.

The VHS cassette itself presents nicely with the original New World Video face and spine labels intact and legible. A vintage blue “Please Rewind This Tape” sticker remains attached to the cassette, as shown in the photographs.

Please review all photographs carefully for the exact condition of the original box, edges, corners, VHS cassette, labels and stickers. Photos are part of the condition description and show the exact copy you will receive.

A great piece for collectors of Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Hellraiser, Clive Barker, Pinhead, Doug Bradley, New World Video, unrated VHS, 1980s horror, vintage VHS and classic video-store-era horror releases.
