This antique leather washer and gasket cutter is a specialized hand tool designed for cutting uniform round washers, gaskets, and similar components from sheet materials. Tools of this type were useful in traditional repair shops, leatherworking shops, machinery maintenance, and general mechanical work.
Before modern manufactured replacement parts were readily available, craftsmen and mechanics often made their own washers and gaskets from leather, fiber, cork, rubber, and other sheet materials. Specialized cutting tools allowed these parts to be produced to a consistent shape for repair and maintenance.
Overall in great shape. Marked but I can only make out Newark, NJ. Works well just needs sharpened.
