Rare vintage Milus Jetmaster Swiss wristwatch, dating approximately from the late 1950s to early 1960s. This is one of the more unusual versions of the Jetmaster, featuring the distinctive mystery airplane seconds display. Instead of a conventional seconds hand, a small airplane travels around the dial, giving the watch a wonderful period aviation character. The overall design is strongly reminiscent of the Universal Genève Polerouter, with its concentric two tone dial, raised outer chapter ring and elegant faceted lugs. The dial is signed MILUS / Jetmaster / 21 JEWELS / LIFESPRING / MILUSHOCK / SWISS MADE, with a red date display at 3 o'clock. Inside is a signed Milus 21 jewel manual winding movement based on the Venus calibre 227, a Swiss movement with central seconds and date. Documented Milus Jetmasters from this period also use the Venus 227. The two tone finish, printing, markers and unusual airplane display remain very attractive. The acrylic crystal is in good condition, with normal light signs of age and use. The gold plated case shows normal vintage wear, including some loss of gold plating, particularly around the case edges and lugs. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. The watch is running, as shown in the photographs and video. It winds, sets and operates normally during testing. Service history is unknown.
