Set of six Franciscan fine china bread & butter plates in the Wilshire pattern.
Made by Gladding, McBean & Co. of California — the backstamp reads "Franciscan China / Made in California / Wilshire" beneath a mission icon. Franciscan began fine china production in California in 1942, and this backstamp style is consistent with 1940s-era pieces.
Each plate is cream with a wide gold-gilded band around the rim and a fine gold line at the center well.
Each plate measures approximately 6.3" in diameter.
Condition is honest: the gold band shows light scuffs and dulling from use and stacking, with a few tiny dark specks in the gold. No chips, cracks, or crazing.
